Mysuru, September 10:- Elephant ‘Eshwara,’ who is in the heritage city for the first time to take part in Nada Habba ‘Mysuru Dasara 2019’ is likely to be sent back to Dubare forest before Dasara festival.
As Eshwara is not able to acclimatise to the environment in Mysuru, the district administration has decided to send him back to the forest.
Officials of the forest department may bring another elephant to replace Eshwara. District in-charge Minister V Somanna has also expressed apprehension on Eshwara. The behaviour of jumbo Eshwara has been a cause of concern to the citizens as well.
Eshwara was part of the first batch of elephants comprising Arjuna, Abhimanyu, Dhananjaya, Vijaya and Varalakshmi who had arrived in the city recently. (KS, NGB)
