Hitting out at former minister and opposition leader K S Eshwarappa, district in-charge minister H C Mahadevappa on Thursday said the BJP leader seems to have lost mental balance.
Addressing a press meet at government guest house Mahadevappa said, “Eshwarappa has lost his mental balance. He is unnecessarily dragging my son’s name in illegal sand mining. Illegal sand extraction has been reduced to a meagre 2% which was not the case when the BJP was in power in the state. Now, Eshwarappa has been flaunting around accusing my son who has been given a clean chit by Lokayukta. I wanted to file a defamation case against him but there is no point in doing it against Eshwarappa as he has no dignity at all.”
Mahadevappa, who addressed his maiden press meet after being appointed as district in-charge minister, said, “I will be in constant touch with people and will be in Mysuru at least once in 15 days. I also promise to hold janaspandana every month and to personally try to address grievances.”
When asked about the proposed Chamundi Hills development project, he said, “We will be widening the road to Chamundi Hills without damaging the environment. The public works department has offered a purse to the forest department to plant 10 saplings for every tree axed. We are yet to finalise the project and call for a tender soon.”
