Kadamba Sainya members stage protest; urge govt to implement Sarojini Mahishi Commission report

Mysuru, July 27:- Kadamba Sainya members staged a protest in the city on Friday urging the government to implement revised Dr Sarojini Mahishi Commission report in the Assembly. They also appealed the Opposition to support the implementation of the report.

The protesters who gathered in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office here, said that the revised commission report was submitted to the previous chief minister Siddaramaiah in February 2017. The report advocated prominence for Kannadigas in jobs in IT and BT sectors. The commission has recommended first priority to give employment opportunities for Kannadigas. The report says that one should have lived for at least 15 years in Karnataka to claim jobs as Kannadigas. The Opposition BJP will also not oppose the implementation of the revised commission report. Kannada language should be made mandatory for all. It will help in promoting Kannada and boost the morale of Kannadigas, they opined.
