Kalam memorial to be dedicated to nation on Thursday

Prime News, Nation, Chennai, July 26:- The memorial build to late President Abdul Kalam at a cost of 15-crore in Tamil Nadu will be dedicated to nation on Thursday.  The Kalam memorial has been built near the tomb where he was laid to rest two years ago.

According to sources Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be arriving to Peykarambu in Rameswaram to inaugurate Kalam’s memorial, which was constructed by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

As per sources, a model of Agni-II missile weighs four-tonne and is 45-feet in height have been set up in Kalam’s memorial. A life-size seven-foot tall bronze statue of Kalam has been installed behind the memorial building.

Modi will also flag off ‘Kalam 2020 Science Vehicle’, a digital-based mobile museum, which was made by Dr A P J Abdul Kalam International Foundation. Rare photos of Agni Missile and Pokhran-II nuclear bomb test will also be displayed in the vehicle.

Sources from Kalam’s foundation said the vehicle will travel across the country and will reach the Rashtrapathi Bhavan in New Delhi on 15 October, the birthday of Kalam.

According to officials, the model of Agni-II missile which weighs four-tonne and is 45-feet in height has been set up in Kalam’s memorial.
