Mysuru, November 16:- “Kanakadasa was a great saint who fought against any discrimination in the name of caste and religion. Everyone needs to study about him,” said MLA L Nagendra.
He was speaking after inaugurating Kanakadasa Jayanti held at Kalamandir organised by the district administration, Kannada and Culture Department on Friday.
“Kanaka Study Centres are there only in a few districts of Karnataka. We will urge the government to set up study centres in all the districts of Karnataka,” he said.
“Kanakadasa overcame the desires of life and held tambourine in hand to unite everyone in the society. He should not be limited to caste or religion. Everyone should celebrate his Jayanti,” said MLA Tanveer Sait.
