Kannada activists condemn Uddhav Thackeray’s comment on Belagavi

Prime News, National, Karnataka, Mysuru, January 30:- Extending support to Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj’s ‘rail roko’ protest all over Karnataka today (January 30), some activists in Mysuru staged a protest at Babu Jagjivan Ram Circle.

Talking to reporters, the protesters said, “To force the state government to shelve Maratha Development Authority plan, we are staging a protest. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is issuing loose statements much to the chagrin of Kannadigas. The central government should intervene immediately and ban Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES). If no action is taken, we will be forced to go on a state-wide protest.”

The protesters added, “Uddhav Thackeray’s statements over the last couple of weeks will be rejected without a second thought. For that matter, Solapur and Mumbai should be merged with Karnataka. Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, who has failed miserably, should put in his papers.”

The protest was held under the leadership of Mooguru Nanjundaswamy. (MR/KS)
