Mysuru, August 2:- Kannada activists and members of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV), Mysuru chapter, staged a protest in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office in the city on Thursday, urging the government to implement Dr D M Nanjundappa Committee report for comprehensive development of the state.
The agitators said that in the federal structure of our country, we must protect the sovereignty of Karnataka. The state was formed due to the hard work and sacrifice of many pro-Kannada leaders. The state and central governments must immediately look into the loopholes while allotting funds and implement the recommendations of the committee headed by economist D M Nanjundappa.
“Only a few places in the state have developed while many other districts in the state are yet to see development works. The government must consider such districts and take up development works and see that the funds are allocated properly and distributed in the interest of the state’s growth,” they added.
District president Praveek Kumar, Jayaprakash Kumar, Dore, Karthik, Srinivas, Rafique, Ganesh, Babu, Lokesh, Anand, Shivu, Ajay and others were present. -(GK,KK)
