Kannada Rajyotsava at Citizen Convent

Mysuru:  Citizen Convent, Udayagiri celebrated 63rd Kannada Rajyotsava with great enthusiasm last Saturday. Maha Jabeen, founder secretary of Citizen Educational Trust, inaugurated the celebrations.

Students presented ‘Janapada Geete’ that captured the spirit of the day. Students enthralled the audience by dancing to the tunes of popular Kannada songs. A quiz on Karnataka made students sit up and think about the contribution and achievements of people from the state.

Maddikeri Gopal, president Udayagiri Kannada Sangha,   emphasized the importance of learning Kannada and threw light on the achievements of Kannadigas in various spheres of life. School principal  Maha Jabeen also spoke about the rich heritage of Karnataka. The event generated a sense of pride in the minds of the audience for being a part of a culture that is so rich and vibrant. Dr. D K Rajendra, senior Kannada philosopher, Ayub Khan, ex-mayor, Saud Khan, corporator, R.K. Surayavamshi were present on the occasion. (MR).
