Bengaluru, June 16:- Goods and Services Tax bill 2017 bill was approved unanimously by Karnataka Legislative assembly on Thursday.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who is handling the finance portfolio tabled the bill and explained in detail of the provisions and the bill was passed.
Speaking on the bill Siddaramaiah said whatever the views emerged in the assembly cannot be added to bill but can be conveyed to Central Government. Supplementing the central GST bill state also introduced Karnataka GST 2017 act.
Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri from the BJP opined that before central government introduced this bill state would have tabled this bill to show the state is ahead of all others, there is a lot of confusion among business community regarding the bill, and the state would have clear their doubts by publishing the modalities of the bill.
Replying to the BJP charges minister Krishnabhairegowda said Karnataka is in forefront in implementing the GST bill and the government is well prepared. He also said there is no confusion among business people about the bill.
