Prime News, State, (Bengaluru), June 3:-The Department of Primary and Secondary Education of Karnataka has proposed to re-open the schools in the state in a phased manner.
The circular has proposed to open the classes from 4th to 7th from July 1, from 1st to 3rd standard to resume from July 15, from 8th to X classes to begin from July 15 (due to SSLC examination answer sheet evaluation from June 25 to July 7).
Pre-Primary classes to re-open from July 20.
Principals and teachers to report to duty from June 5, the admission process to begin from June 8.
The circular, however clarified that the proposed dates will be finalised only, after consulting the stakeholders (parents, school managements).
From June 10 to June 12 the opinion of the parents will be collected.
The circular asked the all the government, aided schools to hold parents, teachers meeting (PTM) and School Development and Monitoring Committee (SDMC) members will air their opinion on the points to re-open the schools on proposed date and submit to government through SATS before June 15.
The circular has proposed to hold schools with social distancing norms with the present strength and run classes regularly or split classes between 8am to 12pm and 1pm to 5pm.
The third option will be ask children to come on alternate days say 1st to 5th and 6th to 10th. If none of the proposed models are agreed upon, what are the alternatives? Also government invite suggestions from stakeholders about how to maintain hygiene and safety measures at schools.
