Karnataka reports new 2010 Covid-19 cases, 5 deaths; tally at 9,73,657

Health News, Karnataka, Bengaluru, March 24:-Karnataka on Tuesday (March 23) registered new 2010 Covid-19 cases and 5 deaths taking its tally of total positive cases count to 9,73,657 and death toll to 12,449.

According to State Health Department bulletin, the state have a total of 15,595 active cases till March 23 out of 9,73,657 total infections. The state also saw 677 infected patients out of hospitals and covid care centres after getting cured of the disease on Tuesday. 136 patients have been admitted in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) across the state.

Positivity rate for the day is 2.03 percent in Karnataka and Case fatality rate (CFR) for the day is  (22.03.2021, 00:00 to 23:59) 0.24 percent.

A total of 41,40,115 covid samples have been tested through Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) method in the state till March 24, 16426005 samples have been tested through RT-PCR method taking cumulative total to 2,05,66,120 tests.

Among the districts, Bengaluru Urban has reported 1280 cases followed by Kalaburagi 129, Mysuru 100, Bidar 76, Dakshina Kannada 74 and Tumakuru 40, rest scattered across the state.

Of the 5 deaths on Tuesday, Bengaluru Urban reported 3, Hassan and Kalaburagi one each. Three patients from Bengaluru Urban having patient numbers 977251, 980997 and 985470, a 51-year-old woman, 75-year-old man and 60-year-old man respectively succumbs to Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) with fever, cough and breathlessness private hospital and designated hospitals.

Patient number 976035 from Kalaburagi, a 51-year-old man died due to SARI with fever, cough,
and breathlessness symptoms at a private hospital. Patient number 987632 from Hassan, a 66-year-old man breathed his last on Tuesday with Influenza Like Illness (ILI) with fever with co-morbidities at a private hospital.
