Karnataka Senapade protests LPG cylinder, train fare hike

Mysuru, January 4:- Karnataka Senapade staged a protest on Saturday, condemning the central government’s decision to increase LPG cylinder price and also hike train fare.

The protesters, who had gathered at Agrahara Circle, said that the BJP government has been increasing the prices of essential commodities such as petrol, diesel and LPG cylinder ever since they came to power. Especially from 2019 August, the LPG price has been increasing every month, they said.

“People are already suffering because of demonetisation, GST, Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, and floods. As if this is not enough, the government has increased the LPG cylinder price and train fare. It will be further burden for the people especially the poor and the middle class. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has let down the hopes of the people. Per capita income is not increasing. GDP has come down to lowest level. The Prime Minister who has been promising good days has failed to deliver it. He had assured that people would use LPG instead of firewood, but the LPG price has been drastically increasing. Central government should immediately control the price hike and provide flood relief compensation to state as demanded by the Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa,” they said.

District president of the organisation Tejesh Lokesh Gowda, Dr Shantharaje Urs, Vijayendra, Akshay, Jayanna, Prajeesh P, Parisara Chandru, Vandana and others were present. (MR/KS)
