Kovind resigns as Bihar Governor, WB Governor Tripathi to replace him

Prime News, New Delhi, June 20:- The President has accepted the resignation of Ram Nath Kovind as the Governor of Bihar a day after the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) named him as its Presidential nominee.

Keshari Nath Tripathi, Governor of West Bengal, has been appointed as the new Bihar Governor.

Tripathi will have to discharge the functions of the Governor of Bihar, in addition to his own duties, until regular arrangements for the office of the Governor of Bihar is made.

Earlier on Monday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Amit Shah announced the name of Kovind as NDA’s consensus candidate for the post of Indian President.
