Mysuru, November 22:- The election fever is increasing in the constituencies in the run-up to the by-elections slated for December 5. BJP, which hardly has its presence in this part of the state, is leaving no stone unturned to make it count this time.
Deputy Chief Minister Ashwath Narayan visited the residence of the former speaker, KR Pet Krishna at Kuvempunagar in the city. Krishna, who was once an MLA from KR Pet, has a lot of followers and supporters. Narayan met the veteran leader and asked him to support BJP candidate Narayana Gowda.
“We will win all the 15 constituencies in the by-elections. Former chief minister Siddaramaiah has become alone in Congress. None of the leaders is supporting him in the by-elections unlike us. KR Pet constituency is not a tough nut for us to crack. I am also from the Mandya district. Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has given enough funds for the constituency. In fact, he has given Rs 150 crore as funds for the development of the constituency, We have all the possibilities of winning the election. I took blessings from Krishna. As he is is a powerful leader from Mandya district, I came to seek his support,” he said.
“If Mandya has to get political prominence, leaders of this region have to be encouraged. BJP government is beyond castes and religions. Congress and JD(S) can’t form the coalition government again as they have already declared war against each other. No leader from Congress except Siddaramaiah comes to the campaign. Every leader is stepping back, saying why should we support Siddaramaiah? Congress can’t win a single seat. We are all united in BJP. We need to win six seats to strengthen our government though we are confident of winning all the 15 seats as people are supporting us,” the DCM added. (MR/KS)
