KRRS urges CESCom for regular supply of power

Mysuru, April 16:- Criticising irregular supply of power, Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) staged a protest in front of Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESCom) office at Vijayanagar here on Friday (April 16).

Talking on the occasion, the protesters said, “As per the agreement, the power has not been supplied regularly and as a result, farmers have incurred heavy losses. Power should be supplied at least for 10 hours daily. During night times, the power supply should be through a single phase.”

They said, “Transformers are going out of order frequently. Concerned authorities should repair them immediately. Though the repair work has been handed over to a private party, it has not been done. CESCom should take over the repair work. Many electric poles in rural areas need attention and wires have got snapped. CESCom officials should immediately call farmer leaders for a talk to address their problems. If they fail to do so, we will be forced to protest in the days to come.”

KRRS state president Badagalapura Nagendra, Lokesh Raje Urs, Saraguru Nataraj, Hosur Kumar, Hosakote Basavaraju, N Prasanna Gowda, Bokkalli Nanjundaswamy, Shettahalli Chndregowda, Nethravathi, P Palaniswamy, Bannur Krishnappa and others were present during the protest. (MR/KS)
