KRS Dam one foot away from reaching its optimum water level

Mysuru, August 13:- With Kodagu district receiving copious rainfall in the last one week, KRS Dam is almost full and is one foot away from reaching its maximum capacity.

KRS Dam is in Srirangapattana taluk in Mandya district. The dam’s maximum capacity is 124.83 feet and the water level stood at 123 feet as on Wednesday evening. If the inflow to the dam continues today (Aug 13), it should reach its optimum level by this evening or tomorrow.

With an inflow of 20,923 cusecs, around 3,756 cusecs of water is being released from the dam. The storage capacity of KRS Reservoir is 49.454 TMC and at present, it is 47.038 TMC. (MR/KS)
