Mysuru, August 10:- University Grants Commission (UGC) has finally given permission for Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) to start distance education courses from the academic year 2018.
UGC has permitted the university to conduct 17 courses from 2018-19 to 2022-23. The problem that was bothering the KSOU since 2013-14 has finally come to an end. Due to the cancellation of the accreditation, future of thousands of students was at stake. UGC has granted accreditation for the university keeping in mind the future of the students and asked KSOU to start classes from the academic year 2018-19.
Higher Education Minister G T Devegowda thanked Union Minister for Human Resource Development (HRD) Prakash Javdekar and UGC chairperson Prof D P Singh.
MLA S A Ramadas also thanked the minister for the UGC grant. (MR/KS).
