Mysuru, January 22:- KSRTC staff and workers federation is organising an indefinite hunger strike from January 30, protesting against anti-labour policies of the transport department, besides demanding gratuity for BMTC and other transport department employees, repayment of loans of co-operative unions, DRBF, and medical reimbursement.
“There are a lot of problems with the department. We have staged a symbolic protest in front of the department office throughout the state. We will stage an indefinite hunger strike from January 30,” said chief secretary of the organisation, H V Anantha Subba Rao at a press meet here on Saturday.
“BMTC and Northwest transport corporations have to pay Rs 21 crore to the employees. They haven’t paid the life insurance premium, money to be paid to co-operative unions and other payments. The employees are under constant pressure at work. Corrupt officials at Tumkur, Chamarajanagar, Chikkamagaluru and Mysuru should be transferred,” he added.
