Mysuru, January 8:- “I will not let anyone interfere in governance,” clarified former chief minister and JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy.
People advised him to do value-added politics and give opportunities to better candidates.
“This convention is held to bring about a change in the political scenario. I became chief minister due to political developments and I didn’t have the blessings of 6.5 crore Kannadigas. I got experience by meeting the experts from various fields. People wish to give Kumaraswamy a chance. If we get power, I will invite experts to Vidhana Soudha for their guidance,” he said.
“We will think of waiving off Rs 51,000 crore loans from the nationalised banks. Governments should see to it that the people don’t suffer. Government is buying farmer’s crops by opening purchase centres. As a result, farmers are forced to sell their crops to middlemen,” Kumaraswamy said.
Responding to requests to make Prof Rangappa a minister if JD(S) comes to power, Kumaraswamy said, “I will not relent to any political pressure. I take strong decisions. I have experience in giving opportunities to family members. But I will not let anyone interfere in governance,” he revealed.
Former vice chancellors of University of Mysore Prof K S Rangappa, Prof S N Hegde and others were present. (MR/KS).
