Labour unions stage protest over demands in Mysuru

Mysuru, July 3:- The confederation of labour associations staged a protest over various demands in front of the deputy commissioner’s (DC) office here on Friday.

The protesters urged the government to reopen all the factories and industries closed in the district in the name of Covid-19. They urged the factories to provide jobs to labourers who have returned from their native places and Rs 7,500 be paid per month for the next 3 months. They requested to extend the MNREGA scheme to urban areas and to restart industries with full payment to employees. They urged the government not to privatise  power DISComs.
