Mysuru, May 15:- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA SA Ramadass led a protest against Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) as it has failed to solve the problems of people in Krishnaraja Constituency.
The protesters, who gathered in front of MCC on Wednesday, said that the vacant sites have become breeding places for poisonous snakes and turned into garbage dumping area. They said that even after collecting taxes of Rs 2 per square feet to clean the vacant sites three times a year, the global tender is yet to be called for. This is causing pollution in the city. Though there have been numerous protests against sewage farm, and even after the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board and Human Rights Commission directing the MCC to take necessary action, nothing has been done so far. Administrative problems are not getting solved even after several months. Street lights have not been installed, maintenance of parks has come to a standstill. The developed parks are also facing maintenance issues, the protesters said.
The activists said that no action has been taken regarding the documentation of deaths at graveyards. They also said that MCC has not taken any measure to control stray dogs’ menace even after receiving several complaints. The public have been made to pay bribe and wait in long queues for seeking birth and death certificates, they alleged.
