Lack of drinking water at Deburu village; women stage protest with empty pots

Mysuru, February 19:- Residents of Deburu village in Nanjangud taluk staged a protest on Tuesday, alleging the layout has not been provided with water since 15 days. They alleged that the village panchayat has delayed the repairing of the pump set.

The protesters lay siege to the village panchayat office holding empty pots and shouted slogans against the officials and panchayat. They alleged that the officials are neglecting the repairing work of the pump set.

They said that submitting a written complaint to the panchayat has been of no use. They also said that the PDO says the supply of water is irregular. They urged the authorities to provide water to houses by tanker on a temporary basis. (MR/KS)
