Lakhs of devotees throng to Nanjangud on Shivaratri
Mysuru, February 22:- Lakhs of devotees from all over the state visited Nanjnagud Srikanteshwara temple which is known as Kashi of South India and offered prayers to the God.
Devotees arrived in Nanjanagudu by Tirupati fast passenger train, Shivamogga passenger train. Devotees took shelter at the temple premises and offered urulu seve and other prayers and took a holy dip in Kapila river.
Devotees stood in queues since 4 am. The number of devotees increased by afternoon and by evening, the temple premises was completely crowded. Temporary gates were opened to let the VIPs visit the temple. Devotees were provided with food in the afternoon and at night.
Various prayers were led by the main priest of the temple Nagachandra Dixit. (MR\KS).
