‘Laksha Vruksha Andolana’ for green Mysuru to be launched on Sept 6

Mysuru, September 4:- “Laksha Vruksha Andolana, a campaign for green Mysuru will be launched on September 6,” said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader HV Rajeev at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Wednesday.

“Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala Dr D Veerendra Heggade will inaugurate the event in the presence of Seer Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji of Suttur Mutt, Sadguru Jaggi Vasudeva of Esha Foundation, Seer Datta Vijayananda Swamiji of Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashrama. MLA SA Ramadass will preside over the event. Deputy Chief Minister Lakshmana Savadi will distribute 10,000 saplings to the people. District in-charge Minister V Somanna will give away the Parisara Poshaka award. Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha, MLAs GT Devegowda, Tanveer Sait, L Nagendra and others will be present,” he said.

“The event is being jointly organised under the auspices of HV Rajeev Sneha Balaga, Mysuru District Journalists’ Association (MDJA), Patanjali Yoga Shikshana Samsthe and Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Programme (SKDRDP) at Dr Puttaraja Gawai Stadium at 11 am. Plants which are suitable for the environment of Mysuru will be planted. The required funds will also be provided for organisations and schools to plant and look after the saplings. Every year one lakh saplings will be planted and looked after,” Rajeev added.
