Land-grab: Dalit Trust to stage protest

Mysuru, June 9:- Dalita Abhivruddhi Charitable Trust has alleged that several political leaders and rich people are trying to gran 4.37 acres of land belonging to a Dalit family in survey number 45/2 near the Teresian College in the city. With police or concerned authorities not bothered to take any action, the organisation is planning a protest.

“The owner of the land Chikkamancha did not transfer the land documents to his family members before his death, many people are trying to grab the property of the family. A retired official from Siddhartha Layout, N Najegowda is trying to construct a building on this land without any document. We have complained to Nazarbad and Alanahalli Police Stations to stop the construction, but these complaints have fallen on deaf ears.  If no justice is served, we will stage a protest near the Gandhi statue on June 12,” said G M Mahadeva of the trust at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Friday.

Susheela, Puttaraju, Gavisiddaiah and Guruswamy were present. (MR/KMR).
