LAST AASHADA SHUKRAVARA: THOUSANDS GATHER AT CHAMUNDI HILLS

More than 15,000 devotees gathered at the Chamundi Hills on Friday morning for the last Aashada Shukravara. The numbers are expected to reach over a lakh by evening. Puja ceremonies including Pushparchane, Panchamruta Abhisheka, Sahasranamaarchane, Simha Vahini Alankara and other rituals were performed to Goddess Chamundeshwari.

On Friday, over 35 KSRTC buses carried the devotees from the Lalitha Mahal Helipad to the Chamundi Hills. Bollywood stars Darshan and Prema had a darshan along with JD(S) leader H D Revanna.

The inside of the temple was specially decorated with flowers and fruits and devotees were given free food by Pancha Ratna Enterprises and other organisations.

The Mahamangalarathi was performed at 9:30 am and according to Chief Priest of the temple Shashi Shekar Dixit, the temple would be open till 10:30 pm
