Lawmakers are making a mockery of democracy: Ramaiah

“This year’s Kavigoshti will discuss Cauvery water dispute, Mahadayi row, M M Kalburgi’s death and drought situation in the state,” said litterateur Kotaganahalli Ramaiah at a function organised as part of the Dasara festivities at Humanities Hall, Manasagangotri, here on Friday.

After inaugurating the programme, he said: “With future in mind, it is the utmost priority of creative people like us to prepare the cultural academic pattern. Law makers are embracing injustice as if they are doing justice”.

He added, “Setting up Niti Ayog in place of Planning Commission was a big disaster. With the corporate world ruling the roost, it is the foremost duty of the youngsters to wake up and fight against this dangerous trend.”

Renowned music director K Kalyan said: “We need to compose more songs on patriotism, nationalism instead of composing songs on love and romance.” Dr Neelagiri Talwar, Working President, Dasara Kavigoshti sub-committee, Dr N Mogasale, litterateurs and others were present.
