Lingayat Mahasabha to help flood-hit people

Mysuru, August 22:- “Lingayata Mahasabha has come forward to help the people of Kodagu who are affected by the flood. Teams from Bengaluru, Mysuru and Chamarajanagar will visit Kodagu,” said state secretary of Jagatika Lingayat Mahasabha Mahadevappa at a press meet at Mysuru press club on Wednesday.

“These teams, led by Basavayogi Prabhu of N R Pura, will visit Kodagu to assess the situation. We will distribute necessary items to the people who have sought shelter at branch mutts of Muruga mutt Chitradurga, Beluru, Madapura and Habbi,” he added.

Shankarappa Bevuru of Bengaluru said that Rs 5 lakh has been collected by the donors and the money will be utilised for purchasing grocery, inners, bedsheets, soaps and shawl.
