Mysuru, June 19:- “Loans of farmers will be waived off soon. Agricultural products market will be opened in all the districts,” said Agriculture Minister Shivashankara Reddy.
He was speaking at a meeting of progressive farmers of Mysuru and Chamarajanagar Districts held at Zilla Panchayat office here on Monday.
“Every district should have a Siridhanya unit. Yashaswini card should be reintroduced. Mandya and Pandavapura sugar factories need to be reopened. Middlemen should be avoided in agriculture market. I am happy with Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s plan to introduce Israel model agriculture in Karnataka. KRS Dam is almost full and water is flowing to Tamil Nadu. We have to fill all the lakes before releasing water to others,” the minister said.
“The schemes of government are not reaching the farmers. Soil testing centre should be renovated in Mysuru. Government employees are making the farmers struggle. Rice should be purchased from the farmers of the state,” Reddy said. The minister said that he would consider all the requests of the farmers.
