Prime News, Karnataka, Bengaluru, July 5: -A lodge in cosmopolitan city Bengaluru refuses to provide a room to stay to a Muslim man who came along with a Hindu woman.
Olive Residence Lodge in JC Road, Bengaluru, refuses to provide shelter to Kerala-based Shafiq and Divya. Citing safety as the reason to provide a room to couple lodge owner Shivamadu reportedly refuses to oblige.
The couple said, as soon as the lodge staff learnt their names they refuses to give a room to couple, the couple claimed that they are married but fail to provide any document to prove their marriage.
The couple visited Bengaluru for a job interview it is reported, the man allegedly had a scuffle with Lodge staff and visuals are recorded in Closed Circuit Television.
Although no law prohibits from staying non-married couples in India, very often hotels and lodges do not allow unmarried couples to stay in one room fearing the police and anti-social elements who can target the hotel and couple alike.
