Mangalamma, a resident of Bannur, has registered a complaint with the police alleging that her son was murdered by the family members of his alleged girlfriend.
On Friday, the parents of Shashidhar, a cab driver lodged a complaint at the Bannur Police Station suspecting foul play over their son’s death. According to the parents, Shashidhar and Akshatha were in love from past four years, as a proof photographs of both posing together were uploaded on social media. The parents alleged that both of them had planned to get married soon after Akshatha’s M Tech examination, but on September 8, Shashidhar who went to Mysuru citing an emergency was found dead under Mysuru circumstances.
Shashidhar’s friend had given a statement that he had committed suicide in Mysuru and no post-mortem was conducted before conducting his funeral. With suspicion looming around his death, the parents checked his cell phone from which all the photographs and data were deleted. It is alleged that Akshatha had telephoned Shashidhar’s sister and had warned her not to disclose their love to anyone.
The parents met Superintendent of Police (SP) of Mysuru district Ravi D Channananavar and urged him to conduct an unbiased investigation.
