LS elections: Selfie zone to attract young voters

Mysuru, April 3:- “As the Lok Sabha elections are fast nearing, selfie zones are being created using the models of animals at Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens and posters on compulsory voting are being distributed,” said District SVEEP Committee president and Zilla Panchayat CEO K Jyothi K.

She was speaking at a press meet held at ZP Hall here on Tuesday.

“Around 1,145 election awareness clubs gave been formed at schools and colleges. Every Saturday, awareness camps are being held. There are 24 polling booths in the district, including two each in Assembly constituencies,” she said.

“All basic facilities are provided to make polling booths people-friendly. Drinking water, electricity, ramp for physically challenged and washroom facilities are available. ‘Nimma Mata Nimma Hakku’ lighting will be set up at Chamundi Hills from April 3. Awareness messages are spread on milk packets, bus tickets and doctors’  prescription. Tableau is being set up on a special vehicle of news and public relations department,” she added.

SVEEP Committee ambassador Shreeharsha inaugurated the vehicle.

Secretary of the committee Krishna, assistant director of News and Public Relations Department Raju were present. (MR/KS).
