Mysuru, May 25:- Responding to Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) thumping performance in the 2019 general elections, Krishnaraja Constituency MLA S A Ramadass on Friday said the voters are matured and thanked them for their overwhelming support to the party.
“Twenty-one opposition parties formed an alliance one year ago to defeat BJP, but they were swept away by Modi wave. Voters have blessed Narendra Modi and BJP with more than 300 seats and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) with more than 350 seats,” he said in his press release.
“The election results have been a lesson for those who were facing elections in the name of caste and religion. Modi and BJP faced the elections with development and nationality as their agenda. Voters of Karnataka have taught a right lesson to both Congress and Janata Dal (Secular),” he added.
“We were confident of getting around one lakh votes from KR constituency. We worked hard and our party candidate Pratap Simha got 97,000 which helped him to a large extent.”
He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, national president Amit Shah, BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa and the party workers for the party’s resounding victory. (MR/SH)
