Madivala Machaiah Jayanti on Feb 1: T Yogesh

Mysuru, January 26:- “Madivala Machaiah Jayanti will be celebrated for the first time on February 1. The event will be held at Kalamandir on Vinobha Road here. People have to attend the event in large numbers,” said ADC T Yogesh here on Friday.

He was speaking at a meeting held to discuss the preparation of Madivala Machaiah Jayanti at Deputy Commissioner’s office.

“Kannada and Culture Department and Madivala Machaiah Committee are jointly organising Madivala Machaiah Jayanti.  The event will introduce Madivala Machaiah and his works to the society. No government holiday will be given on the jayanti. A procession will be held from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple to  Kalamandir. It is the responsibility of the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) to clean up these areas,” he added.

Deputy director of Kannada and Culture Department H Chennappa, president of Mysuru City Madivala Association Varuna Madeva, Chandrashekhar Bairi, and others were present. (MR/MN).
