Maha Abhishekha for Nandi statue at Chamudi Hills

‘Bettada Balaga,’ a group of morning walkers, organised Maha Abhisheka to the 17-feet high monolithic Nandi statue atop Chamundi hills here on Monday.

The Maha Abhisheka was held on the second Monday of Kaarthika Maasa of the Hindu calendar. Auspicious items including milk, curd, honey, sugar, turmeric, kum kum, sandalwood paste, dry fruits, tender coconut and others were offered to Nandi.

Thousands of devotees thronged Chamundi Hills on the occasion. Shivakumar, Om Prakash, Ravi, Raju, Gowrishankar and others of the ‘Bettada Balaga’ were present.
