Mahadayi row: Farmers agitation gets support from JDS & Film Chamber

AAP and various pro-kannada organisations have expressed their support

Prime News, State, (Bengaluru), December 25:-The three-day old day and night agitation by farmers gained momentum with Janata Dal (Secular) JD (S) and Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) extending their support on Monday.

Despite chilly weather, more than 500 members of Mahadayi-KalasaBanduri Nala Horata Samithi, who arrived from North Karnataka on Saturday, are staging dharna in front of ‘Jaganath Bhavan’ the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State headquarters demanding BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa to meet them at the agitating venue, spell out BJP’s stand on the issue instead of allegedly making false promises to take political advantage.

Already Aam Admi Party (AAP) and various pro-kannada organisations have expressed their support to the agitation by participating.

Former Minister and JD(S) leader Basavaraj Horatti visited the agitators and assured his party’s support to the agitation.

Talking to newsmen, Horatti said that he will talk to Opposition Leader in the Legislative Assembly Jagadish Shetter and ask him to hold discussion with his party leaders and pronounce whether it is possible to pressurise Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene on the issue and solve it.
