Maharani College hostel students demand fee reimbursment

Continuing their protest demanding basic facilities at their hostel, Maharani’s Arts and Commerce students staged a demonstration on Wednesday urging the authorities to reimburse the money taken from SC / ST students in the name of mess bill.

Last Sunday, the students got to the streets and the authorities including Joint Director Department of Collegiate Education Prof Morabada Mallikarjuna told them that he would call a meeting and investigate the misappropriation allegation and lack of facilities. Even Social Welfare Minister H

Anjaneya visited the hostel and had called for immediate probe and to solve the problem as early as possible. “Despite this, no official has turned up to address our grievances,” a student said. The hostel management had asked the final year students to vacate the hostel in the next ten days.

The students also demanded basic facilities. “Though we have paid Rs 4,500 during the admission, the facilities are poor. For a transparent administration, students were included in the hostel management but the authorities are behaving autocratically,” they said. The students urged the authorities to reimburse their dues.
