The architect of Indian Constitution Dr B R Ambedkar fought against all the odds to root out inequality, castiesm and untouchability. He strove for the betterment of dalits and downtrodden to help them bring to the mainstream of the society, said Assistant Professor, Maharani Arts College for Women, Dr Vasanth Kumar.
Speaking at the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Dr Ambedkar at the college premises, Dr Kumar underlined the years of Dr Ambedkar’s struggle against all sort of discrimination and poverty and dreamt of a constructive India where everyone lived with dignity, integrity, communal harmony and equality.
He said that Dr Ambedkar initiated his fight at the time when religious politics had gripped the Indian society.
“Dr Ambedkar had concern towards society and believed in equality for all without any discrimination,” she said.
College principal Prof M Purushottam and others were present on the occasion.
