Maharashtra extends statewide lockdown till July 31

Prime News, Nation, (Mumbai), June 29:-The Maharashtra government on Monday announced that the entire state will remain in lockdown till July 31 to curb the spread of coronavirus.

Under the extended lockdown, the government has empowered district collectors and municipal commissioners to impose restrictions on non-essential activities. The government said that movement of people for non-essential activities like shopping and outdoor exercise will be restricted in neighbourhood areas. Maharashtra, with over 1.64 lakh novel coronavirus cases, is the worst hit state in the country.

Project PLATINA, the world’s ‘largest’ convalescent plasma therapy trial cum project in treatment of severe Covid-19 patients, was today launched by the Maharashtra government.

It will be world’s largest trial cum treatment project in the world where in government intends to benefit and save around 500 lives of critically ill covid-19 patients of Maharashtra.
