Mahesh Chandraguru granted bail but arrested in another case

Professor Mahesh Chandraguru a faculty of Mass Communication and Journalism department who had been arrested following a case against him that he had put disparaging remarks on lord Rama got a bail on Wednesday; however he was again taken into custody by the police in another case.

Jayalakshmipuram police had lodged a case against him in January after he made derogatory remarks on Lord Srirama at a function held in University of Mysore premises and Mahesh Chandraguru was arrested on June 17th. The fourth JMFC Court had remained him to judicial custody and when his bail application had come up for hearing on June 20th it was adjourned for June 22. Finally on Wednesdaycourt issued him a bail, however police brought a body warrant against guru in a case he was the fourth accused in connections with a statement of writer K S Bhagwan that the Bhagawad Gita should be burnt. The police were directed by judge of the fourth JMFC court to produce guru on Thursday for trial. The syndicate of University of Mysore on Tuesday took a decision to keep Professor Mahesh Chandraguru under suspension and an order was issued.
