Mysuru, April 3:- “No one should go hungry during this nationwide lockdown period. Nanjangud taluk administration should make sure that everyone in the taluk gets food,” said District in-charge Minister V Somanna.
He was speaking at the meeting of officials at KEB Engineers Hall in Nanjangud on Wednesday after inspecting Jubilant Generics factory.
“Police will visit the residences of quarantined people every day. ASHA volunteers and Anganwadi workers also have to go with them. Nurses should not be allotted this work as they have the hospital duty,” said Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar.
Tahsildar Mahesh informed that 1,458 employees of the factory have been quarantined, out of which 761 are from Nanjangud and 697 are outsiders.
He said that disinfectants have been sprayed across Nanjangud and some people have been quarantined in hotels.
Superintendent of Police CB Ryshyanth said that the police will make sure that the quarantined people don’t come out.
Mysuru-Kodagu Member of Parliament Pratap Simha, MLA Harshavardhan, Zilla Panchayat CEO Prashanth Kumar Mishra, Dr Venkatesh and others were present. (MR/KS)
