Make use of govt schemes, women entrepreneurs told

Deputy Commissioner C Shikha and 11 women entrepreneurs were felicitated by the women’s wing of MCCI

The Women in Small Enterprise (WISE), a Women’s Wing of Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), felicitated 11 women entrepreneurs including the Mysuru Deputy Commissioner C Shikha during a seminar on Monday.
The seminar on ‘Women Entrepreneurship Development’ organised by WISE was part of International Women’s Day wherein about 150 women entrepreneurs participated to learn various aspects of entrepreneurship from the experts.
Speaking after inaugurating the seminar, Chairman, District Co-ordination Committee, FKCCI, Sudhakar S Shetty encouraged women entrepreneurs to make use of all the benefits extended to them by the state government.

“The government is providing immense support to attract women towards entrepreneurship. There are provided with good schemes which many women fail to make use of,” he said, adding, “a soft loan at four percent interest was being offered up to Rs 50 lakh for women entrepreneurs to start their business. It is a good opportunity to make use of,” he said.
He also called upon women to shun inhibition and become entrepreneurs to help solve unemployment in the country.
The women entrepreneurs felicitated at the seminar were: C Shikha, N C Chandana, Kavitha Sanjay, Jayashri Venkatesh, Kalpana Surendra, Smrithi, Veda Rai, Vyshali Hanumanthu, Lalitha S Ramannanavar, Jayalakshmi Lingaraj and Shashikala Ashok.

MCCI President A S Satish, Vice President N H Jayanth, Treasurer Srisaila Ramannanavar, WISE president Gayatri Keshava Rao, Vice President Vasantha Kumari, Treasurer Malini Srinivasan, DIC Mysuru Joint Director Ramakrishna Gowda were present. To boost women to start their own business, soft loans at four percent interest rate is being offered, noted Sudhakar S Shetty.
