Man held for stealing money with duplicate key; cash recovered

Vijayanagar police have arrested one Manu (24), a resident of Heggadahalli, Mandya district, for stealing Rs 5 lakh from the house he was residing in Vijayanagar, Mysuru.


Manu completed his engineering and was in search of job. As he was searching for a job in Mysuru, a resident of Vijayanagar 2nd stage, Nagaraju, also a friend of  Manu, let him stay at his house. Meanwhile, Manu prepared a duplicate key of the house and stole Rs 5 lakh when there were no one at the house.


Nagaraju filed a police complaint regarding this at Vijayanagar police station. Manu accepted that he had stolen it to repay his education loan. An amount of Rs 4,98,500 has been recovered.


The investigation was done by Vijayanagar inspector A Guruprasad, PSI M N Satish Kumar Urs, constables Krishna, S Mahadeva, Somashetty, C Mahesh Sagar and Ravi. Mysuru Police Commissioner Dayananda has lauded the team.
