Man stabbed to death near his home

A 38-year-old Man was stabbed to death in Udayagiri Police Station limits on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Aslam Pasha, son of Abdul Rasheed, a resident of Udayagiri.

According to reports and witnesses, two unidentified men came on a bike, got down and started to stab Aslam. He was stabbed on his chest, abdomen and back and collapsed on the spot. Though the passers-by tried to nab the duo, they threw the dragger and fled from the spot.

Following the incident, police personnel rushed to the spot, seized the weapon and collected the CCTV camera fixed at a shop nearby.

It is said that though Aslam was a painter by profession, he was also a pick-pocketer and few cases were registered on him. The eyewitnesses alleged that it must be the handiwork of some of his former associates.

The post mortem was conducted at the KR Hospital Mortuary before handing over Aslam’s body to his family. Investigation is on.
