Man vandalises tea stall on being asked to pay for his tea

Mysuru, October 31:- A rogue customer assaulted a tea stall owner and threw biscuit container, glass cups and bottles on MG Road in the city on Wednesday. After much drama, people caught him and handed him over to the police.

The person has been identified as Kalim (35) of Kakaravadi in the city. He had been to Baba Budangiri tea stall on MG road and had tea and cigarettes and didn’t bother to pay for it. He returned to the shop again at 10 am and asked for tea. The shop owner asked him to clear the dues before asking for tea again. Enraged by this, Kalim assaulted the workers and threw the crates of soft drinks and kicked the tables and containers. When he tried to escape on his friend’s scooter, people beat him up and handed him over to the police.

The whole drama has been recorded on the CCTV camera. The shop owner said that he has been drinking tea without paying money for the past 3-4 days. Lakshmipuram police took him to KR Hospital for a medical check-up and later registered a complaint. The police have collected the CCTV footage of the incident. (MR/KS).
