Mysuru, January 30:- MYRA School of Business will be hosting Manoj Ranjan, IFS – Additional Secretary, Government of Karnataka who will be delivering a talk titled – ‘Indira Canteen: Towards a Hunger Free Society’ as a part of MYRA’s ongoing Development Dialogue Series in the city on Wednesday.
Development Dialogue series at MYRA aim to offer faculty and students a platform to not only develop the Triple Bottom line mind-set of becoming business leaders with a Conscience, not only driving profits and increasing shareholder value but also think beyond profits and help build a more egalitarian and socially inclusive society.
Ranjan is currently serving as Special Commissioner, BBMP (The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike).
The Government of Karnataka’s Indira Canteen and Mobile Canteen were launched successfully under Manoj Ranjan’s stewardship. Indira Canteens are a chain of fast-food joints in Bengaluru which was started, subsidized and is run by BBMP. Ranjan also is the Managing Director of Rashtriya e Market Services Pvt. Ltd. (ReMS)—initiated online trading for Agriculture produce—first time in the country launched and successfully demonstrated by linking all 154 markets. Government of India has now launched e-NAM based on this model.
Rashtriya e Market Services Private Limited (ReMS) has been established as a joint venture company, with Government of Karnataka and the NCDEX Spot Exchange Limited for implementing the Agricultural Marketing Policy, to bring in efficiency and transparency in the agricultural marketing system for efficient price discovery to benefit farmers and other market participants having a mandate to operate with cutting edge technology, constantly adapting the practices of advanced markets to the agricultural markets in the state.
