Mysuru, June 5:- Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, Regional Office Mysuru, Srirangapattana Municipal Council, Shashwathi Dharmika Kriya Kendra, Akhila Bharatiya Sanyasi Sangha and Cauvery River Water Protection Trust Hogenakal jointly organised a march to clean river Cauvery to mark the World Environment Day.
The rally was flagged off from Mysuru palace and culminate at Cauvery river bank at Sri Ranganatha temple in Srirangapattana.
“Cauvery river is holy. It is our responsibility to keep it clean. We are flagging off the rally from Kote Anjaneya temple,” said Bhanuprakash Sharma of Shashwathi Dharmika Kriya Kendra.
Senior officer of Pollution Control Board Uday Kumar called upon the public to keep the rivers plastic-free. Hundreds of people gathered for the march. (MR/KS).
