MLC Marithibbegowda asks MUDA to shelve e-auction of sites

Mysuru, August 4:- In view of the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) planning to e-auction corner sites and commercial sites, MLC Marithibbegowda wants the move to be shelved.

In his media release, the MLC has said, “MUDA’s action is not realistic. They should call for an all-party meeting before arriving at any decision. There are a lot of issues to be discussed at the meeting.”

He said, “E-auctioning important sites in areas that are not developed is a wrong move. Lal Bahadur Shastri Nagar, Lalithadri Nagar and R T Nagar are yet to be developed and MUDA wanting to sell the sites will only result in heavy losses. According to MUDA rules, interim sites can’t be auctioned. But strangely, around 60% of the sites are supposed to be auctioned as interim sites. There should be total concurrence before the auction takes place. In this background, e-auction should be deferred for the time being.”

Marithibbegowda has written to the MUDA Commissioner and the chairman to convene a meeting on a priority basis. (MR/KS)
