MART 156, one of the Mysuru chapters of Round Table India, had organised its first Area Annual General Meet (AGM) of Area 13 at a private hotel, recently.
Area 13 comprises 10 tables which includes 4 tables in Mysuru. Area 13, in 2015-2016, has completed projects worth Rs 35 lakh for its community service projects and Rs 1 crore has spent on construction of classrooms and toilet blocks. The organisation works for the welfare of the society and provides their services for the upliftment of the weaker sections.
A donation of Rs 1 lakh was handed over to Mythri Charitable Institute for Mentally Challenged. The amount will be used for sponsoring the annual fees of 8 students, which includes their education, vocational training, food, clothing, study material, sports, excursion tours, transport and healthcare.
Mythri is the first school dedicated to the cause of special children and young adults. The special school caters to the needs of the mentally disabled children who belong to the underprivileged sections of the society.
Rs 45,000 was handed over to three students Shashank Holla, Rachana S and Inchara G from Mysuru for their exemplary performance in academics.
