Prime News, International, Las Vegas (USA), October 2:- At least 50 people have been killed and over 200 injured, several critical, in a mass shooting at a country music festival in Las Vegas, a hospital spokesman says.

All the injured have been shifted to a hospital. The suspect has been reportedly shot dead by law enforcement authorities. The gunman was identified by law enforcement officials as Stephen Paddock, 64, of Mesquite, Nevada.

The gunfire was heard at the Route 91 Country Music festival, which was taking place across the road from the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino, reports said.

Concert-goers reported seeing muzzle flashes from the upper floors of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and the sound of what they described as automatic gun fire.

Authorities shut down part of the Las Vegas Strip after receiving reports of an active shooter.

Witnesses say country singer Jason Aldean was playing near the end of the concert when gunfire rang out.
